Hello all, so right here I’ve got an m5od-r1 out of a 3.0 v6 93’ ranger. I’ve always had a problem with very sloppy shifting and I’ve mainly had trouble with 3rd to 4th gear. I replaced the shifter bushings but it only got worse (couldn’t shift into 3rd or 4th at all). I’ve gotten it to shift into gear now but only when I apply downward pressure, if not the gear will not go in at all. Any ideas guys?

Tried to watch the video, but I couldn't get it to work.

However...

Based on what you describe, it sounds like your 3-4 shift fork is worn. Do you have a habit of resting your hand on the shifter while you drive?

-OR-

You have the incorrect shifter nub for your trans. Has to top cover for your trans ever been swapped for another? I don't know the exact year, but at some point, Ford made the shifter nub that goes into the top cover slightly longer than older versions.
