What’s it this part?

In 1989 Ranger, 2.3l 4cyl, or 2.9l V6, were only engine options?

4.0l swap?

The 4.0l Computers all used MAF sensors no MAP sensor, and no BAP sensor, barometric pressure was "inferred" by MAF and Throttle sensor
The fact its plugged in means at least some of engine harness is from a 2.9l

So a little more detail on this vehicle would be needed

There's 89 2wd build and titled trucks with 4.0.

They are really 90....but I ha e seen them as family members owned them

The 1st 4.0,s did have bap sensors and no NGS.

I unplugged the sensor and took for another test drive, still Boggs the same. Its crazy because when I short shift and am low in RPM the motor is perfect, but when I push the pedal down to accelerate immediate bogg.

Undo air meter and repeat.

Then undo tps with air meter hooked up and repeat.

Possibly One of those bastards is probably peeing in your potatoes....

I started the truck with the air meter off and it was idling a little off, plugged back disconnected the throttle sensor and it idled fine, Im waiting to test drive, I have no windshield wipers, 91' bald tires, no lights, no registration and its raining here in FL. waiting for weather to get better for more test runs.

Never even read about that

Whats NGS?

Did you test the tps?

Neutral gear switch.

I built several harnesses over a dozen or so swaps with the early critters...the first systems suck....too many changes

Running a 1st calibration on a fast burn engine is hell on headgaskets.

Test drove with MAF off same bogging, plugged back in and disconnected throttle position sensor drove and same bogging.

Los or fmem.

Ok. Check the tps carefully. Do you have a good known tps?

Did the throttle tip on change at all with it disconnected. Sounds like the maf is working alone or the tps is.

See what codes it's throwing now.

I’ll test again. Quick question on coil pack. What is this silver part? It maybe from the old motor, not sure.
