Weird Problem

HELP! I have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge edition; it has the 4.0 V6 and a standard transmission. Just recently I have had a problem with some of the lights. The problems are: I have no light in the rear when I put the transmission in reverse. The other problem is when I hit the brakes, the right turn signal light comes on inside on the instrument panel and also on the outside. It does not blink, it is a solid light. This seems very odd to me. I checked and replaced all the bulbs and checked the fuses and they all seem ok. I am just wondering if one of the fuses in the panel is in the wrong slot and is the cause to this problem.

If you have any ideas on how to fix my problem, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Sounds like you have a ground problem. Or........do you have an inline "T" for some trailer lights? If you do take it out and plug the stock connectors back together and try that.

Trailer wiring could be your problem for sure. The signal lamp issue may require a wiring diagram tho. You will have to see at what points the brake light wiring and the turn signal wiring get close, or share connections, grounds, etc. Your reverse lights may just be a bad reverse light switch. That is on the transmission, and shouldn't cost much to replace.
