Was $99.25 to much to renew my 02 ranger tabs ??

My town is split right down the middle. One half us in Sumner county and the other is in Robertson county. I beleive my plates cost $95, but right across the highway they are $65. Sumner also tacks on a county wheel tax. So every county is different. My mom and them pay around $110 in Cheatham County.

Around here, plates vary by vehicle. Bronco II were classed as “station wagons“ and they were $36/year for plates until recently. Think they’re 40-45 ish now. Ranger is up like 80-100, F-150 is a little higher. Of course there’s inspections too, which a state inspection has gone up to $60-70 per year. Some areas require emissions inspection too which is even more. I’m probably not going to like plate cost for my dump truck when I get it back together, plate costs have gone up since it was last on the road, especially for bigger trucks. Ohio is cheaper and some areas don’t require inspections at all.

Insurance is a rip off but you don’t really have much of a choice. I’m over $2,400 a year for Choptop, green Ranger and F-150. I could get cheaper insurance, but after the problems I’ve had, I don’t do cheap insurance. I don’t remember if I did it with the F-150 but both the Choptop and green Ranger have full coverage. I’ve put too much work into them to not want to have full coverage with all the idiots on the road around here anymore.

Im in CA. Just renewed my tags. $172. Plus about $70 for a smog check, which luckily it passed, barely. Eff CARB.

Beaver County was kind enoufh to tack on an $5 to the vehicle registration fee a few years back. There, for a couple of years, one could pay for two years or registration and only get charged for one year of the County fee. Unfortunately, the error was discovered and that doesn't happen anymore.

Beaver County makes us do emissions and those who work on a military base, get to have it done too if the installation is in a location that requires it. It doesn't matter if your county doesn't require it or if you live in a different state. You want access to your job, you're gonna need that emissions test.

CARB only charges $8 for the smog certificate. The shop charges the rest. I think I paid about half that for my smog. You have to shop around.

Yeah, Butler added the $5 fee too. I think it’s a state wide thing and the money goes to your county rather than the state.

That‘s rough. I asked around back when we first moved here, there are zero shops around here that can do emissions testing, so if say I worked there, I’d have to go to Allegheny or Beaver county and find a shop to get the emissions done. Seems kind of crazy. But that’s government for you…

(Flori-duh, Broward County): $48.25 per annum fer tags, $105 per month for 100k/300k liability ins + UNinsured Motorist (aka Illegal Immigrant Tax)... no collision or "comprehensive" for the old workhorse Ranger...

... but since she just hit the 25-year "silver" anniversary, I should check if there's an "Antique" angle to get lower rates on both!

I think my pick up was $117...

Bronco II was registered as an early antique and is basically 1/2 of what my truck is.
Uncle Gump, you are lucky you live down there, up here on the north end of the state we pay $151.00 a year for regular plate stickers and $40.00 for EA plate.

I think they should just make Chicago it's own state... and leave the rest of us alone.

I agree with you 100%, I actually live in Zion only 2 miles south of the state line but 40 miles from Chicago.

Yeah... I had a business in Cook County.

They can just kiss my grits.

Around $30 for a year.

My 96 is like 70 bucks annually, antique plate. Be closer to 100 or so with a regular plate.

The bronco would of been 1070 this year... So I might register it next year 😂

I remember doing the math on what it would cost to register a Lambo Gallardo back during their last year of production and it was a hair over 5k 😖 of course that's not much money if your someone of means but that's still robbery.
