want to spin tires easier in 1st no clutch dump

Headers but really that is more for the sound, not really big Hp you right Flat Top pistons or a blower( not easy on this motor) used to be some cool supercharger kit for 4.0 OHV, but they are all discontinued thanks for the help

I'm running Borla headers... They defiantly changed the sound (for the better), I picked up some high rpm HP, and dont feel I lost or gained much of any low end torque.

you are one lucky sob the borla headers are the only headers. i really want and they don't make them anymore on a v6 headers really do more in the sound department, and they look nicer under the hood just an question. What are some other good 4.0 OHV headers?

New engine? Lol. My sohc is a bit strongerthen my rangers ohv engine... But still nothing compared to other v6's in other vehicles.

Arrow to the knee the 3.7 sadly make the 2010 4.0 in the mustang an boat anchor. All they needed to do was make the 3.7 a 4.0, put 4.0 badge on the mustang, that would have been cool. maybe not it does should like a ricer though

sorry to threadjack, but after all this talk about fox mustangs and 4.0's, has anyone ever put a 4.go in a fox?

thank you for the threadjack and no i have never heard of that one before but it would be cool

Headman makes headers for the 4.0L OHV.

i have an 93 ford ranger i dont beat it but it would like to be able to in 1st gear be able to spin the tires without any help from the clutch. heres my mod list
ported head and intake
kkm intake
muffler delete
msd ignition
pulstar plugs
stock manifold and cam
needs a dyno tune and will get here very soon a bbk throttle body
and it has a mustang gt 8.8 with 3.55 custom order from the factory meaing 100 percent traction i want to know if a little for hp will get me my goal

It's a torque problem. If you let the clutch up, then punch it, is there enough torque at near idle rpms with the throttle wide open to break it loose? The thing you need available is a lot more air that you can burn fuel with and make torque. Horsepower air is at high rpm and you aren' there yet--you need torque air. Torque air is air that's already there pretty much. You need a big cylinder, or you need to reduce the amount of torque needed--deep gears, lighter weight.

remember i still have to pass emissions and all the negative stuff is childish grow up it is just a question

Only two things I get from this thread.

1. "want to spin tires easier in 1st no clutch dump" isn't a question; it's a fragment.

2. It took a while but you finally mastered the use of the "Quote" button.

Everything else has already been said. Very "entertaining".........

I think what you really need to do is tear your motor down and port and polish all the surfaces and edges inside the block. Don't forget the oil pump. This will make your oil run faster. The difference in the lower temp due to less friction sould give you at least 100 hp...:icon_hornsup:

It's easy to dump on a new, inexperienced, guy and his dreams. A lot harder to swallow the quick sarcastic comment and actually give advise that he might understand. As in another thread, there does seem to be a tendency to jump all over the newbs. If that's your style, please look up pirate4x4. If you can make a sensible contribution, please do so.

GoGoggansGo,
I wanted to try to give you a little advise. My impression of you is a gung-ho youth with hundreds of dreams about going fast. You seem to be all over the map with your ideas which suggests a lack of knowledge.
I know that you want it all and you want it now, I know that because I still feel the same way myself. But I have learned that won't happen. One step at a time. You're on the right track in going to school and asking questions. Don't give up!!!
Ignore the naysayers and plug along.
Your dad has experience on his side and has your best interests at heart. There is a reason for what he says about what to do to your truck. One of the reasons I see is that you're a broke-ass student. Try to concentrate on schooling, do your home-work, even if that means going out with your buddies drinking only once a month. YOU have to control your behavior so that you benefit. The reason that I mention the partying is that's the route I took when I was younger, and I finally sobered up a couple of years ago. Thirty years of drinking and I have no money in the bank, my knees are worn out, and it dribbles when I pee. Trust me when I say that keeping in school is your best bet. You want to race, check into auto-cross and/or rallying, don't do it on the street. Do it for REAL.
Enough reading my babble, get back to your homework.
Good luck,

Richard

You should start drinking again. I have been teaching people in my 30 years as a machinest. If you dont mess with them a little bit they wont think for themselves. You can get off your soapbox anytime and stop being the rangerstation police. We all know that he does not know much if all he wants to do is spin the tires on his truck.

I guess the "entertainment" I cynically referred to isn't quite over........

the 8.8 really needs 4.10 but I don't know where to get a new speedo gear for the change

dealer sells them.. they are about $7 a piece here. there's info in the tech library about how to find out which one you need and you can even get the part number of the gear and just go to ford and get it.

i've bought 5 or so in the past couple years from tire changes and gear changes.

you need more motor or more gear. i say do 4.56's! :yahoo:
other than that, grow up... stop being such a hard a$s and defending your actions so much. its your rig, do what you want... but don't get on here and ask for input then complain b/c you don't like the answers you get. when you start a thread saying what you did, you come across as a newb that doesn't know anything and just overall immature. :icon_idea: if you ask questions on a forum, expect some answers you don't want...expect some useful answers. simple as that. :icon_thumby: overall tho, i wish sometimes some of the guys wouldn't be so "harsh".. i don't want this to be compared to Pirate4x4... even tho we are NOOOO where close.

@ gogaggansgo: I for one have no idea who you're talking to. There is a quote button at the bottom left corner of the post you're referring to to make this easier to follow.

Also periods aren't only for girls (they're nice in sentences too).
