want to spin tires easier in 1st no clutch dump

Wow kid, you are very lost. Whoever thinks that the OHV heads are "high flow" should have their man card revoked. Even with extensive porting, they still have a hard time supplying a cammed motor over 5500rpm. You're father may have ordered the truck, but I promise you its the same 160 flywheel hp 4.0L V6 all the other rangers recieved. I have the window sticker to my truck too...

You will never see 35-40hp with a throttle body. EVER. Guys with headers, free flowing exhaust, intake upgrade, head porting, and mild cam with dyno time see the quoted 35-40hp increase.

I didn't mean it that way the master tech has done several 4.0 before, and was surprised by the heads. and the 35-40Hp increase is everything together. And I am not lost just glad I have a Ranger

If you're sure on these things, then I encourage you to pursue your dreams. A poor experience is still experience. Once you get this out of the way you can start being honest and weeding through the guys who "bullshit" you and the ones who are "honest".

thanks when i get out of college. I will get a mustang, and that will be my toy till then its the old gal. This issue is just one thing it needs a paint job. Not because the paint is bad, because my dad has put in some bad dents over the years, and I would love to get some nice american racing rims. Put money is tight, and I was looking into something to save up for to add on during the summer. Most likely and the BBK a nice paint job. here my link to see some pics and the ranger militia

remember that dealerships tend not to have part to vehicles older than 10 years. I not saying they don't have them, but parts like that are harder to find

You don't need to tell me how a dealership works.

Look above my avatar picture....see where I work?

Good luck with your truck. You seem to think you know what you are doing and don't want to listen to anything anyone has to say, criticism or otherwise. We've been there, done this before.

hey man you got me wrong I like criticism, but when it is constructive. Yes in some ways I do know what I am talking about because I have research to the high heavens. But you work at a dealership, and I respect that, and that is my goal to work in a dealership have a wife, house, ranger, and of course a 5.0:icon_thumby:

I agree, and in turn will not waste any more of my efforts in this topic. Hence why I suggested he just follow through with his plans. When he is dissapointed that he dumped this much money into a motor with less than desirable results (after all, the goal was to do burn outs anyway) then he has successfully gained "experience". Anyway, carry on. I'm done offering advice.

i know thanksfor the help, but this thread has done nothing but criticize me, and I made the thread now that sucks

We may be a little harsh, but everything said has been the truth.

Everything you want to do to your truck has been done and documented by a member already. We know from years of experience approx how much power you will make with what mods you do.
I can tell you from first hand experience that the BBK will pick you up a few HP at higher RPM with a loss of a little low end torque.

After the BBK there really isn't to much more to do, thanks for you help

Not without spending some serious money on internal mods or forced induction.

Headers but really that is more for the sound, not really big Hp you right Flat Top pistons or a blower( not easy on this motor) used to be some cool supercharger kit for 4.0 OHV, but they are all discontinued thanks for the help

New engine? Lol. My sohc is a bit strongerthen my rangers ohv engine... But still nothing compared to other v6's in other vehicles.

You can put the later 95tm heads on to up the compression ratio, but it will require you to run premium fuel.
