I keep getting mixed results from all over the internet as to what offset I should use. I do not want to use a spacer but if need be I have to. My 05 Ranger FX4 is stock height. I know the stock rims are 16X7 with a +12mm offset. I am looking for 18" rims in either 8, 8.5 or 9" in width. Can someone please let me know what the correct offset should be. It would be okay of the wheels were pushed out a 1/4-1/2" but I really don't want the wheels extending past the fender lip. I intend to use a P275 tire in the back and a P265 in the front. Please help. Thanks

I'd keep the tire sizes the same unless you don't plan on using the 4x4 ever.

About 3.75" to 4.25" backspace, whatever that works out to in mm. Your offset will be -X mm no matter what. Don't be shocked when you find almost no 18" wheels with the correct offset. Most larger rims are meant to fit the GM offset, even in they have a Ford bolt pattern, so do a lot of looking and/or resign yourself to buying spacers as well.

And yeah, you will need the same diameter tires front and rear unless you plan to never use the 4 wheel drive.
