just wondering how much lower my front end will be with a 302, because I have a 3/4 drop on my 94 2.3l 2wd right now and i dont want to have to worry about rubbing.
Judging by your avatar, theres not much room left to lose.
Not sure where'd you get em, but I'd suggest a stiffer spring. A stiffer spring might lift it a little bit but once you drop a 5.0 in it...should return to about the same heighth as before.
i still have at least 5 inches of clearance on the front. when i first got the truck the front sagged so the front coils and all the shocks were replaced, i'm still using the same coil.
ive found a 302 on craigslist, went and looked at it yesterday. but now i can't decide whether i want a t5 or a c4 tranny. i have a 5 spd manual now
here's the a bigger picture of my avatar just for reference....
Wow. Now, I dont say this often, but thats one sexy ranger.
Ill be honest here. You will be FAR happier with a good'ol mustang 5 speed backing that 302. Get a short shift kit for that tranny, and you will be loving life, man.
I suggest automatics only for off road applications. If your building a street ranger with a v8, and are two damn lazy to shift your own gears, then you dont deserve the v8 exhaust note.
Now, get out there and gut yourself a mustang for its go gear!
