UrbanRedneckKid's Build Thread

I didn't really have that much trouble fitting my seats. I measured twice, and welded and tapped once.

And with my track bar mount, I added the 1/4" plates on the sides that go up the entire side of the frame. And I plan to add a brace from the engine crossmember to the mount.

ya, i missed the updated pics of the track bar mount. it looks alot stronger now.

as fars as seats, i originally had the seats that raceranger97 has in his truck but they were too small for a supercab ranger. so thats when i had to start hacking again to fit the new seats.

anyway... good work man.

Front is done, besides steering.

Picked up a set of wheel hubs and rotors free from a j-yard my buddy works at.
Picked up at set of wheel bearings free from my buddy's spare Chevy parts.
Finished welding the track bar mount
Installed the Warn Premiums

This thing is pretty big. I'm 5'8" and my girlfriend is 5'4", and the 36" TSLs aren't aired up.

Latest New on the Build;
Hoping to get the steering done this week. And that will be it till I get moved in. I'm moving to Missouri next week. Then I'll start on the rear.
After I get the truck where I can drive it daily, I plan to do other things as weekend projects, Like;
New clutch and slave cylinder
F-250 shock mounts and 14" travel Bilstien 5150 shocks
Front and rear bumpers
8K front winch
Rock sliders
Front shafts, gears, and Powr-Lok install
In-bed tire carrier
Desert-style light bar over windshield

Got my stuff from Ballistic Fab today... after all that waiting, they sent me the wrong parts! I ordered the y-link steering, and they sent the TREs for the cross-over kit.

The track bar mount is really nice though. The laser cutting is super clean.

ive ordered from them like 6 times and they have got the order wrong every time... and yes, they always took like 2 to 3 weeks to ship. they even like to blame UPS for losing stuff and make up tracking numbers.

oh ya, im getting a new set of coilovers here in about 2 weeks. if you want a good set, i can sell you mine. just thought id throw it out there.

Got the rear springs in and painted up the frame. I ended up having to buy 3 new perches. I just need to sell my Shackles and buy regular ones, and get my 9" to the shop to be cut down.

You'll be real happy with those 63" Chevy springs.

You'll be real happy with those 63" Chevy springs.

That's what I've been told. Though I think they may be a little too stiff and I'll have to take a leaf out. But I also don't have the weight of the bed, toolbox and, spare.

Anyone have any advice on how and where to mount the rear shocks?
I know I won't be able to get full travel with the stock frame mounts, and I have accepted I'll have to cut holes in my bed for proper mounts.
But I've been looking at these from RuffStuff
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/shock-plates-p-374.html
But I was thinking that, wouldn't the tire hit the shock during articulated up-travel..? That wouldn't be good since I'll be running the $100 Bilstien 5150 shocks.
I'll have my 9" shortened and, back from the shop by the end of next week.
Just trying to plan out shock placement, and gettin ideas.

Hows it coming along since your last mishap, but from what I can tell it's lookin good so far.

I'll possibly be getting a set of coil-overs, but if not I'm gunna have to get a new set of coils since they are bent now, along with new buckets that will actually hold them. And as for the track bar, I'm gunna be making one with the left over piece of DOM from the steering.
