i am seriously considering swapping in some rockwells before i put more money into a dana 60 :D

every time i see this thing i get the hankerin to go satin black my rig.

one of these days i wont be able to stop myself and it will be all your fault:woot:

haha yea it cost me a whole 20 bucks to paint it to, i was going to paint it that desert tan but decided to go flat black and a lil tan instead, it would have been like 50 bucks for tan paint lol

do it, join the flat black club :D

Flat black can be cool. I've seen some really cool flat black paint jobs. I've even seen one with a nice flame job over it.

Nice thing about flat is it's easy to touch up!

When I see these trucks with full size leafs, especially leafs in the front, I wonder how guys come up with the right size springs to get the amount of lift they want on a Ranger.

yea every ranger ive had i ended up painting flat black :D

trial and error jim.

for my truck rear ranger/sploder leafs were just too soft and needed traction bars of some sort as i was kinking them. i basically used what i had laying around and tried different setups till i got what i wanted. of course i have to meet a goal, 70 plus mph freeway capacity is a number 1. then tune to trail tolerance.

when i have time and money i will run coils or coilover type something eventually i am sure.

i have done f/s trucks and jeeps, the fs use 2 in jackers generally and jeeps run waggy springs w/d60 fronts.

one thing i have always needed with leaf setups and (what i consider acceptable) road use was a track bar too btw.

so flat black with siver/tan hue ghost flames...

hmmmm....

any tips on keeping flex with one?longer and flatter the better?quick disconnect?

this is what i had planned on doing for the rear trac bar

i pulled it off to see if it made a difference, its simply a ranger steering link. it does most definatly restrict movement. i have modded versions of the 250 link to work in xj's before as these do wear fast. used them on other setups as well so they are adjustable. once you have it where you want it you can make your permanant link.

if you use aftermarket links its not really a problem as long as your using soft springs. implement pins are great for popping it off at the trail, but its a pia and you need tools still to drive the pin out. i am not using soft springs so articulation is not very good anyway... but the way the whole setup works my wheels stay fairly planted and get traction anyway. just incorporating frame twist:dunno:

diesels truck is more of a dedicated mudder, where mine is still a driver, trail ride, mud ride, snowmobile ect..

i need to get some pics i guess:dntknw:

these are phone mailed, and i am not pic savvy soo i hope they are visible.

thats a good idea on a shackleless traction bar diesel, prices of gas makes me want to go all the way with my truck up on 38-40's and put my current setup on a b2 for a daily driver.instead of trying to run around on 35's with my long bed
bobby-you were just talking about the front right? this seems like what the yj's go though-leave it on and you track better and don't get windblown as much, but at the cost of flex.

i dig the 302 guys but i wonder what kind of output you could get from tweeking a new 4cyl powerstoke?probably no weight savings but 38's and 20mpg?:stirthepot:it would be sweet if that stack belched smoke!only problem is a diesel swap would be what, $8000 or more ?
