Twister 85 B2 Build

From my link with the Ford Racing bracket kit.

U-Wrench-It charged me $35 for the whole FEAD. The tank on the pump is busted but the brackets are all good.

I don't know if you go down there much, it was off the red car that was almost folded in half they have had forever.

Did that include the alternator? That's a great deal.

The P/S pump will require that bracket in your link Twister. It's pretty common though.

Yeah, it looks to be a better option than the ac bypass pulley, it would eliminate the huge power steering bracket I have now. I just with I was brave enough to go to u pull it, but 100*+ weather is not ideal lol

I agree, that's why I always go in the morning. I hate sweating like a prostitute in church while I'm working on cars.

Well it is suppose to be 84* tomorrow, so i might go looking for that bracket.

Also, does anyone have any input on autozone and advance clutch kits. I can get both the flywheel and clutch set for about $130 from both places, but didn't know if anyone has had any experience with either one? My truck isn't going to be a race truck, mostly just a daily driver. Another thing, where can i get a new separator plate for the engine, i don't think the one that was on the engine will work with the m5od-r2?

My buddy put a Duralast Gold clutch kit on his 99 Cobra last summer. He says it chatters already. It uses the same kit the 5.0 Mustangs use. He only resurfaced the flywheel though. I always start with a new one. They are too cheap to not go new IMO.

Sent while I should be doing something else

They would both be brand new, I was thinking of going with the auto zone one because I know how their warranty service works, I've never bought anything from advanced other than gaskets lol.

Well my quest for the bracket was unsuccessful :(, only must they had was a 4 cylinder. But it was not a complete waste of time, I found a 97 body style v6 manual truck. Luckily someone had yanked the tcase so the transmisson was drooping enough I could get the top off.
But someone took the shifter ball out and I thought took it, but my luck continued. Someone threw it in the bed :D. I got the top and the shifter for $17

Here is the comparison, stock 95 one on the transmission, new top on the left.

Well poop, the shift tops dont just swap over, the shift forks on the v6 have a different size nub that slides over gear selector on the inside . It seems likw i may be able to sand down the nubs on the v6 on to get it to fit, or i am going to look into swapping over the shift forks. I will post pics in a bit, hope to get some imput :icon_thumby:

Here are pics of both, if you can see it, the nubs on the v6 one are bigger

If I go with that, how would you want for the power steering bracket?

Sorry, been on vacation and didn't have much computer time, $20 for the ps pump bracket next trip up work ok?

I didn't get the alternator but I have the bracket for it. It mounted the same as the Ranger alternator so the plan was to just reuse it.

Dang, I hate that. :bawling: I was told they would interchange (I even started a thread specifically about it asking for input)

If you could swap the forks it would probably be the best.

Do you know where i would be to find a guide to replace the shift forks?

And to ad insult to injury, i found this today  :bawling::bawling::bawling:
Its a broken water pump bolt.

If this is all over not wanting to run an ac pump, I say keep it and convert it to run OBA.

I think I am settled on the non ac bracket with the eliminator kit. It moves the pump up a bit, rids the engine of the current massive ps pump bracket and gives me some more front room for the filter relocation, plus I really have no need for OBA, I don't wheel nor travel great distances in my truck. Good suggestion though :) Now I'm trying to figure out how to use the v6 m5r2 top on the older v8 one.

Also, good luck on your swap tomorrow, I hope everything goes well

Will a bw4406 transfer case fit? I found a guy parting out an 02 f150 and has the tranny and transfer case listed as one for $100.

They are huge... but I bet you could flip them for more thant $50 apeice.

If it is mechanical you might keep the shift linkage if you don't have anything. I don't know how universal fullsize t-cases are but I would think it would at least get you the lever and the part that mounts on the transmission.

Ok thanks, i think i will pass the transfer case, but if i can get the tranny for around $50 i might pick it up.

I just got my np208 to fit.
