Just thought of shair these photos of how my bumper is coming along. I posted pics
On another site and really didn't get any possative feedback but here it goes.

Keep in mind that this is the first thing I've ever done with a welder or custom jobs like this
More is being added like a tube on the bottom matching the top "stinger" with a skid plate also I'm putting a 12 inch led light bar on top

Looks pretty good so far. The winch is going to mount under the grill right?

What do you use your truck for?

It's awesome! I'd have done a few things a little different, but its looking good. The only way to make your fab bends and welds look better is to build stuff. Keep at it!

Thanks guys. Theres even a few things I wanted to do differently but I used scrap that I had laying around . And yes the winch will sit under the grill I stole this idea from a mother forum member .

And my truck is my everyday driver I do off road a couple nights a week though

Yep I'm building a bumper right now too and mines going to sit tucked back like that...do you have a picture directly from the side?

OH Nice! That's tucked back farther than I thought :icon_thumby:

Just chop it off at an angle, away from the wheel well. I'd cut it @ 30* from the vertical, or whatever to match the fender. You definitely don't want your tire chewed up on that overhang.

As far as welds go, mine aren't that great either. Practice, and gas, good for better beads/puddles.

I couldn't tell from the pics, but how are you mounting it? Bolt-on or welded?

Welded to the frame on the sides of the frame rails and strait into the frame .
My rear bumper will be bolted because im more likely to hit the rear and want to fix it
These are my first welds I mean they don't look good but I followed direction from a career structural welder he says they will be as strong as any other so I'm happy with it.

Keep an eye later on I'm going over today to add a couple more things

Cool. Happy welding!

looks good man

try turning up the heat on the welder, it looks like you could penetrate a bit more. you may need to turn the wire speed down a hair too.

but yeah, keep on practicing. i learned the same way you, just started building stuff and see what happens lol.

I like the design, and your welds will get better with practice. If you have access to oxy/acetylene, use that to practice your puddle control. The oxy/acet welding process is the basis for all other welding and will help you learn what to look for.
