truck broke down today

Not by itself but yes, it can if you need to depin the plug.

The inertia switch seems to work. And has power to it.

But was power coming out of the inertia switch?

If no, fix that. If yes, move on to the fuel pump.

The black plastic thing in your pic is the connector's "wedge"; when the terminals are inserted, the wedge is then pushed into place to lock the terminals in.

The wedge is removeable, but typically there are locks to keep them there. You'll have to determine what locks it has, and how you need to work the locks in order to release the wedge.

Are you sure the pin you tested for ground is the ground pin and not the pin for the pump.

There is a few more tests yet you can do for free before you go buying a new pump.

As @RobbieD said you need to test/check the inertia switch.

You might want to try using your jumper wire on the relay pins for the fuel pump again.
Only this time with someone else helping you.

The way the other person can help is by laying down and putting their head under the gas tank and listen for the fuel pump to come on.

If the other person does hear the fuel pump come on then you know the pump is not the issue.

You all write way faster than I can.

I also want to go back to your question about the ground at the relay.
How did you test for the ground did you use a multimeter did you use the test light what did you do.

I'd use a test light myself I clipped the clip part to the positive battery cable while the battery is hooked up.
I'd use the ice pick point to probe my ground.

When the inertia switch is unpoped it has continuity between the two pins. So I assume if I add power to it the OUT will be powered.

I am not sure how to test the OUT specifically right now without cutting the connection.

Do you have any bobby pins you can push one in from the wire side on The Ground Post.
And use the bobby pin that's sticking the rest of the way out as your point of contact

I tested the relay ground with a multimeter. The relay beside is same configuration and has ground on the center pin

T-pins will work for back probing connectors as well and gives you a little more material to clip to or put the test leads on.

Hey T-Pain is the type of bobby pin that the end of it looks like a t in case you did not know what a t pin was.

Is the black plate on this connector supposed to be able to come off?

It's the inertia switch connector
it does. But you shouldn't need to disassemble it. you can jumper a wire from one terminal to the other and then se if the truck starts. I doubt that the inertia switch is bad unless you bumped into something fairly hard. Everyone likes to point to it and it's easy to check. but rarely the problem. They don't normally just "go bad".

Next is to see if you are getting power to the pump. That will require lifting the bed to access the connector. From there, you can also make sure the ground connection is good.

I would like to ask a simple question that has not been answered in this thread.

How much fuel is in the tank?
