Sorry guys I'm not too sure where to post this. I woke up yesterday morning and someone had drilled a hole in my gas tank. It's a 2003 Ranger XLT with the 4.0 L and it's 4wd. For the life of me I can't figure out which gas tank I need to order. I know I can just drop the tank and compare it to pictures of ones I find online. But before I go through and do all of that in a week or two when I have time, would anyone here know a place to find a new tank?

Thanks in advance.

I bought my last fuel tank on Amazon.

I think they'll want to know wheel base.

Another place to check is the Bronco Graveyard... they also sell Ranger parts.

Checked Amazon and the bronco graveyard. Unfortunately no results for my 126 inch wheelbase im seeing.

they are hard to get sometimes

37 gallons.....that is bigger then the 34 in my ranger. not sure if it would fit the older trucks.

the 17 gallon extended cab metal tanks are available....and fairly cheap.

that is why i indicated not sure if it could. it looks like 15 inches wide to me....where 13.5 is pushing it for an ext cab. but the regular steel tanks are available.

DORMAN 576125

they are the gen 1 tanks. you will have to make it work.

though....i will jam square pegs into round holes.... so there is that. but 34 gallons is nice for cruising.

That definitely won't work. They barely work in the truck they are supposed to fit. They hang anout 1.5" below the frame. Great for a road only, long range driver. Not so great if you off road. I looked at them and pictures of them installed in a 2019+ Ranger and decided to pass.

A few of us contacted the company on facebook and asked if they could look into an off road friendly model that isn't so exposed. It will reduce the capacity but even a 29-30 gallon tank would be better than the 19 it comes with.

Are you opposed to a used tank? You could try car-part.com for one from a junkyard. Being that their plastic, they should be in usable condition.
