Hi everyone,

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 162,000 miles. Recently the OD light began flashing and the tranny wouldn't shift into overdrive. Shut the car off, it ran fine. About 2000 miles later, OD light flashed and tranny slipped all over the place, then the CE light came on. Had it towed to a trusted mechanic who rebuilt the whole thing. Shifts better now, no more slipping issues. However when I shift from neutral or drive to reverse it feels like I hit a wall. I thought that by rebuilding the transmission it would've been taken care of. It's a pretty bad thunk and I shudder every time I have to backup. Any suggestions as to what it might be? It does this even when thet truck is warmed up. I'm new to this site, just made an account this morning but any help or insight would be awesome.

Transmission valve bodies in these 4R & 5R transmission are well know for wearing out, I chased a trans problem for about a week and it was the valve body, installed a quality rebuilt VB and the problems were solved.

I bought mine from Central Valve Body 1-877-341-0266
