hey all I have a 86 ranger 4x4 2.9. I recently bought a boat and rewired the whole trailer with new harness and lights (from harbor freight). All of the lights, blinkers and brake lights work fine when the trucks headlights are turned off. When I turn on the running lights all the lights work perfect except the left brake light on the trailer, turns off the running light instead of turning on the brake light. Im thinking a short somewhere... or I had a friend tell me about an adapter you need for rangers that goes between the 4 pin plug on the truck and the 4 pin on the trailer... anyone ever have this issue

You're saying that all the running lights work with the lights on, and when you step on the brake the left running light goes out instead of the brake light coming on? Check for bad ground on that side...

Yes, that's exactly whats happening.... thanks ill check for a bad ground.

I'd bet its a bad ground too. It is harbor freight so...is the bulb any good? I'm assuming its a cheapo incandescent light kit.
