Is there any numbers or way to find out if a Ranger/Bronco 2 has a TracLock front axle. I know they where a option on early years of Ranger/Bronco2.

As far as I know, that was not an option for any RBV front axle.

havent heard of that either, it'd would've been sweet though

it was an option in some D28s

yup, if you can find a ranger/b2 with the snowplow package (airbags in front springs and 4.10 gears), there's a good chance it will have the front trac-loc.

good luck, my b2 is the only rbv i've ever seen with a plow package. it didn't have the lower gears or trac-loc, but it had the bags, plow, and controls.

Thats cool. Too bad D28s are useless. You can put a Jeep D35 L/S unit in though.

A truck with the L/S front axle will have a 3-digit axle code on the door sticker ending in "2" (F62, for example).

Yupp.

Also, they were only offered for about 2 years, 86-87 I think.

edit - Also these are extremely rare. It was considered a myth around here until Allan D (I think?) informed us about the 3rd digit on the axle code.

I have it in my BroncoII. Not from factory, I purchased it in a junkyard. It was from a CA highway service Ranger, so maybe it was due to the snow-plow pkg.

This little LSD works well with the tire sizes that the Dana28 can hold. I think it would be a nice addition to a restored BroncoII or Ranger 4X4 full of factory options.

the first b2 my dad had was like that. 86 i think. sweet little b2. to bad it burnt to the ground. had 4.10's and factory lsd's.
