How to tell if I have trac-lock or not

No I defiantly doesn't need to be rebuilt. The truck doesn't even have 60,000 on it yet. I'm the second owner and the first owner was a 70ish year old man that had every maintenance issue done by the dealership.

Or it needs rebuilt from too much previous tire frying. :D

My trac-lok has nearly 190,000 on it and it still lights both up. :D

Although, since the new paint, I don't do it anymore.

Sent from a Commodore 64 using a 300 baud modem

Usually after 100k they are pretty much open, at 150k the one in the parents Explorer is getting pretty weak and crunchy on turns.

So if you're supposed to put in friction modifier when new clutches are installed to allow clutch slip without chatter, I wonder if new fluid without modifier on old clutches would bring them back to life for a while?
HHHMMMMMMMM....

No, they chatter when they are shot. I would think no modifier would make it worse.

Oil with the modifier in it along with the dose of perscribed modifer got it to shut up though. It is an IRS Explorer so it isn't really cut and dry to put the clutches in it, I wish they would send the thing down the road...

I was thinking strictly straight line. I see what you are saying would apply around corners. Thanks,

Richard

Yea.

You know its a differential if you take the cheesy plastic axle cover off and look at it. Should be spring in there for trac loc. Then put a gasket and new metal cover on because if you use silicon without a gasket it sticks so good youll destroy the metal cover taking it off again. Not sure w t ... Anyhoo so Im putting a 8.8 trac loc with 3.80 in mine after rebuilding the water a4ld twice thank you radiator cooler.
