Good afternoon, everyone,
I wanted to share information that I've received today concerning the impending winter storm. Some information you may be already aware of, some may be new information. This is what I know as of 5:00 PM today:
1. PEMA headquarters, Harrisburg will be staffed from 8:00 PM this evening until the storm passes; they will be monitoring HF 7.2505 (Day) 3.9935 (Evening), DMR (TG-31420) and Winlink (KB3NIE); these will be monitored for storm reports and EMA requests that are unable to be completed through normal channels.
2. Red Cross (statewide) will be activated and on standby for sheltering requests, etc. from agencies that may require their assistance. KC3TOO, Rich, will be monitoring our .135 repeater should our county have any requests for assistance.
3. The Beaver County AuxComm program has been placed on standby for any requests from Beaver County EMA; primarily at this point, we may be called upon to report snow amounts, any damage observed, etc.; we will not be required to physically respond unless a major incident would occur. If we are requested, we will call up a net.
4. As of 5:00 PM, the forecast is still calling for anywhere from 9 to 14 inches of snow, beginning somewhere around 4:00 tomorrow morning, lasting at least through early Monday morning.
I am requesting that all stations monitor the 147.135 repeater starting at 8:00 tomorrow morning in the event that we are called to assist, and for any updated information. As more information is passed on to me, I will share it with you all.
Stay warm, stay safe!
