Todays weather

its up to 21 degrees now! plowed again, think total is close to 10” now. plowed along the road so when the big plow comes by it wont destroy the mailbox. Checked on the chickens, 1 egg for the day. A small tractor went by with a loader & blade on it. Id go to my parents but cant pull the trailer in this and its too cold for a 22 mile round trip tractor ride. Should be able to trailer it there tomorrow- might have to park the trailer 2 miles out but better than driving the tractor the whole way in this weather.

Round 2 has begun. It's sleeting hard right now.

I clear about 10" of snow. It's still been snowing the whole time but at least about half of the forecasted snow has been cleared out. It's a good thing too. Even with it being light and fluffy snow, the two stage was struggling to handle the volume. Snow was pilling out the sides, so I had to bump the transmission lever here and there so it had time to choke it down.

Hotlanta update, 4:45pm Sunday

It started raining about 3:30, just heavy rain, no sleet. It was always above freezing, but the temperature went from the low 30s up into the low 40s over the last hour.

No sleet or ice formed on the driveway, some ice on the bushes and trees, and my vehicles. The rain has washed the ice off all the vehicles and most of it off the tree branches, only a couple little spots here and there. Of course, the stubborn spot is on my wooden steps down to the driveway. Mother nature is trying to bust my ass. Rain is supposed to stop in a couple hours, and it’s not supposed to go below freezing till about 1-2:00 in the morning. Shouldn’t be enough water on the pavement by then to cause any road problems.

More ice came down and stuck around the cute little brunette 30 miles north of here, but it’s raining up there now and I suspect it will all wash away.

Power has flipped off for a few seconds to a couple minutes half a dozen times today. Internet has done the same thing.

It’s supposed to be pretty cold this week, no precipitation. I think we’re seeing the end of Atlanta slushmageddon 2026.

We're in freezing rain and that's the rest of my forecast.

I haven't stepped outside all day. I'll go out tomorrow morning and start clearing stuff and go over to mom's house and make sure to clear a path to the mailbox. Power is still on. Everything is good.
