Howdy all,
I have an '83 4x4 ranger w/ the 2.8l gas w/ TK 4-speed and not sure which transfer case. Now I'm wanting to do a 4-speed to 5-speed swap and still keep my 4x4. The 2.8l gas engine has cracked/warped heads and I'm replacing w/ an '84 mazda perkins 2.2l diesel I have in another stock 84 ranger (this is why I'm wanting to stick with the TK transmissions. From what i've read, they are the only transmission without an adapter kit that will bolt up to the 2.2l perkins)
My question is: will the transfer case from the 4-speed bolt to a 5-speed if i were to find a 2wd 5-speed? I'm not even sure they made a TK5 that would bolt to a transfer case? what about clutches. what differences would I be looking at?
