TK4 to TK5

My 84 2.8 2wd TK4 went out. I can get ahold of a TK5 for cheap out of a 86 2.9. Will it work? I checked for clutch kit replacements for both years and the part numbers are different. Thanks

Some had an internal slave, and some had an external. Other than that they will swap fine.

Thanks for the reply, I can get the tk5 for $125. I live in a rural area and used parts for early Rangers are rare since they are usually the first in line for "the crusher".

tk4 to tk5 2.3

my tk4 in the my '84 2.3 making all kinds of noises and now the bellhousing broke at starter area. wanna put a tk5 in place of the tk4. how much (if any) mods are required to make this a reality. thanks
