My Truck:
1999 Ranger Extended Cab * 4wd * 4.10 gears * 32X11.5 R15 * 15x8 Outlaw II knock-offs * Explorer Springs * 2" lift shackles * Lift Blocks removed * Torsion Bar Twist

Plan to go back to stock Ranger Springs and Shackles (no lift block), drop front back down, and install smaller tires. Haven't needed 4wd in over 5 years and worst terrain I drive is graded logging road. Lowering for better power, handling, and efficiency.

Simple question first. Planning to go back to a factory 16" wheel on my '99 Ranger 4wd. I really like the 16" split 5 spoke used on the 2007+ Rangers. Will the canter bore on those clear the AVM hubs on my 1999 Ranger?

These be the wheels I want:

Will continue later, dinner is on the table... OK, back now, continuing the post...

Now for the harder and more controversial questions. I don't use 4wd, but it's nice having it if I needed more traction on a dirt road or boat ramp. I think I want something more at home on the street, but I don't want to give up all of my off asphalt traction. Improved handling would definitely be a plus. I don't know if I want to find an all-terrain, if a truck highway tire would be a good choice, or if I should go with more of a car type all-season pattern.

I'm also having trouble nailing down a size. I want to move to a shorter tire, something around a 29 to 30 inch diameter. These will be mounted on a 16x7 wheel and I definitely want a wider look than the stock 245 tire. Problem 'm having with many truck tires is that they are measured on section width, and have a narrower squared off tread design that makes them look much narrower than they are. Any recommendations to a size?

I like the way this truck sits. It belonged to a member of some of the ranger forums, he went by the usernames 95offroadx and hossler. from my understanding in these pics the truck is wearing a 275/60r17 in front and a 285/60r17 in rear. As mentioned I'm going for 16x7 wheels so his size doesn't work for me. He's also wearing car tires and I'm not sure I want to do that.

Hope even half of this post makes sense, and thanks for looking.
