Tire recommendations for a 2005 2WD Ranger?

I am moving from Wisconsin to New Mexico in a few weeks and my truck will need tires soon and I want to do that before moving cross country. Do you have any tire recommendations for this type of truck? Rangers are a fairly bumpy ride. Any suggestions for a tire that might make things smoother?
