Hello all, I have a 99 XLT 4wd with a 31 inch Goodyear wranglers. They tend to make a lot of noise around 30 to 35 mph and going up through and coming back down through that speed range. It is a loud humming noise and vibration that sounds like the tires are at a resonant frequency of something. The tires have roughly 15k on them.

Is this normal? I'm used to all seasons or summer tires on my other vehicles.

There are a few Wrangler tread versions.

The more aggressive(open) the tread design the noisier it will be, so it can be "normal" but not desired :).
Larger openings in the tread allow more air to be trapped and compressed under the tire which makes noise, if you run higher or lower air pressure you can change the noise a bit and at what MPH it is loudest
Obviously the road material matters as well

Thanks Ron, I figured. It looks pretty open. I'll check tire pressures and adjust to see if I can dial it to a less common speed for my driving (around town, 30 to 35 mph is pretty common for me).
