Timing issue??????????????? or not?????

It seems to run alot better now with the bigger discharge nozzle installed but still has a very slight hesitation on throttle but it is still running rich cuz on the way to the wheel alignment shop my wife said she was gagging following me and that my truck stinks........... jets maybe?????????????? too big????

I wasn't paying attention....what's the fuel pressure reading at the carb inlet??????

Stupi(e)d question...but did you re-adjust the 2 idle air screws again??????

i didnt re-adjust the idle air screws after the bigger discharge nozzle install, didnt know i needed to i thought those nozzles were only used on throttle opening...............

I was just guessing that gagging you while it's at idle could be from wrong adjustment on the air screws on each side of the metering block...or from too much fuel pressure to the carb....just guessing....

it runs fine at idle just when you hit throttle from an idle it stumble just for a split second

was told to try a different power valve because im pushing 19 inch/lbs of vacuum at idle, so i'm waiting on a holley paart no 125-95 to come in, and then ill jet a little richer than the factory holley #65 jet......................

I was reading an article on pony carbs saying ford engines like to be advanced as far as possible you can try advancing it until it just about pings or until it pings then back off till it dont under a heavy load (skinny pedal to the floor). Also they were testing with different size jets using a O-2 meter and leaner created more HP and torque ratios too lean can burn pistons and valves and too rich can wash the cylinders and destroy rings. If you havent browse their site maybe they can help you get it dialed in.

tried changing powervalve out to a 9.5 inch/lb and installed the #68 jet back in the primary and it still has a hesitation, need to get this figured out soon we are going to the truck show next wednesday???????????????????

I had this problem and had to install a different accelerator pump cam and a larger squirter. What yours will need, you will have to try various cams and squirters (and cam positions :icon_thumby:). Go to Holley and watch some of their online videos, they contain some very helpful information to get you a ball park of what to try.

What happens with the off idle acceleration is that the vacuum drops and no more fuel is being metered, the accelerator pump shoots a specified amount of gas into the carb to make up for this time that no fuel is being delivered. Sounds like you are lean on your accelerator pump, no adjustments can be done to the front lever to adjust it out. Trust me, I have tried...
