Actually, doorgunner's first comment is closest to winning the safety lottery...it's called the "pit" and was the only way before lifts were common and affordable. And yes, they used to use ditch versions out in the sticks. My great grandfather quit wrenching when he started seeing V8's above him while in the pits...he liked inlines...learned to wrench in France as part of the AEF in WWI...We're off to kill the Kaiser!
