ok guys so i was driving my moms truck and she was with me i was goinh the speed limit an the light changed yellow right as my front tires hit the cross walk and with no way to stop i hit the gas to make the light and i got a ticket cause it was a camera light and in the pic it shows it being red before i ever got to the light, which it wasnt and it clocked me going 42 the speed limit was 35 should i take it to court and fight it since i know i wasnt in the wrong or should i just pay the 125 cause the ticket goes on my moms record not mine and i dont want her haveing to pay more for insurance.

either pay it or get the vasoline. There is no defense against camera lights. even if they are wrong (and are often set up to be wrong so the municipality can pay for it) you would never in a thousand years be able to prove it. go to court and man up so your ma doesn't pay the higher insurance.

the thing i didnt mention is that if i do man up i go to jail cause i cant have any criminal or traffic infractions plus i lose my license. i have a bad past that i paid off in juvie and jail and have paid all my fines and got off doc and well i cant get in trouble for two years its been one. so my mom told me just to pay for it cause i have been so good with keeping my nose clean she doesnt want me to go back to jail.

If you "man up", plead the 5th. It's the part of the Constitution that gives you the right not to incriminate yourself.
I would recommend that you get a counselor to settle/sort this predicament.
Remember, a good legal eagle knows the law.....A great attorney knows the Judge-

Argue it and just don't get another ticket or you'll pay double. They WILL waive one ticket but if you get another within a year you'll pay double on both tickets.

Everyone who has started an "I got a ticket" thread always claims they are a sympathetic victim of circumstances. :icon_confused:
Most jurisdictions treat a red light "camera" ticket as a simple code violation and nothing goes on anyone's driving record.....at least in Florida it's that way.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't care much for red light cameras... too much big brother watching over our shoulder for my tastes...

They can be good or bad. We hope the idiots that run them all the time are the ones that get caught. They are the ones that will kill someone you know one day. My best friend lost his wife and 10 year old daughter to a redlight runner a few years ago at a bad intersection. They have put up the cameras at that intersection and so far nobody has run that light in two years. Drivers are coming to a full stop there now. Hope it stays that way.

traffic cameras are nothing, just wait til to po-po are flying tiny little drones around to make sure you're not being a bad boy.

I don't see how the cameras are going to prevent people from running red lights. They are either going to run them or not, people don't run them on purpose. It's almost always an accident and they may not realize it until they're through, they are going to run the red light whether there's a camera there or not. It happens. It would be one thing if people blew them on purpose, but I think that's hardly the case. No one wants to get into an accident.

Big Brother suxxx as much as the people who run redlights cause they're too important to stop for 45 seconds....down here they run em on purpose---2 or 3 cars will run the same light--and not because they're caught in the intersection because of a goofus ahead of them. Traffic camers have made the most dangerous intersections safe now--but folks know which intersections DON'T have the cameras and.....

As for Big Brother...eventually he'll go from being the "SAFETY EYE" to the "EVIL EYE"......(but that's in the Book too!)

Honor thy father & mother.....do what she says.

Redlight cameras are a detterent, they where never meant to stop red light runners completely.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

isnt running a redlight a moving violation, regardless of location?

Back to the ticket thing.......

Talk to a lawyer! See what he/she has to say. Find out what could happen. This sucks for your Mom too.

I hope everything works out for the both of you.

Its the same in NJ... no points, nothing against your license, just a fine that goes to the registered owner of the vehicle. ("please pay us, and go on your merry way, thank you.")
