Recently picked up a F250 with a 6.2 and an auto trans. (6R140 I think) Also drive by wire.

Transmission is really a miserable POS programming wise. Look up lethargic in the dictionary.

Anyone use a pedal monster or other throttle controller model on one of these newer drive by wire machines?

Considering one, but I’m more concerned about the ridiculous shifting patterns then the slow throttle response. Wondering if that would help with or not much.

i had one on my titan. it didn't make a noticeable difference to me unless is set it into sport mode. in sport mode, i had to adjust the trim or it would smoke the tires every time you touched the gas.

they are adjustable to get it tame though, so you can set it to fit what you like

Did you have a pedal monster or a different brand?

Does driving your Nissan make you want to jump off abridge as is?

no, i got the pedal controller because everyone said it was so magical and made the truck feel totally different. when i get it set to where it felt like a normal truck, it felt just like it did without the pedal controller, but i never had any trouble with my transmission shifts, like the other titan guys said htey did. they all said it made their truck feel like a cable driven truck, which mine already felt that way.

mine is not a pedal commander because they cost co much. i think mine is an older roar pedal controller. i would have to check when i get home though.

so many companies make them now, and usually cheaper than pedal commander, that i got one that lots of forums had positive reviews about.

roar is good
evic is good
9 pedal isgood
banks is good
and of course, pedal commander is good.

there are a few others also but i cannot think of the brands.

Snake oil IMO. There really isn't anything a pedal box can do for a guy that he can't do himself by either just using more/less right foot action.

I had one way back on one of my subarus.. was dissappoint.

i took mine off after little while since i felt no difference. we don't have one on any of our other drive by wire vehicles, but none have a transmission shift issue, either.

see if anything is on ebay or fb marketplace that you can get a lot cheaper. than you can try it and see if it helps the truck feel better

My assumption what they just shorten the distance from 0% to 100% for the pedal position.
People seem to rave about them on various forums. I think @bobbywalter has one on his power boost.

Seems like I would be better off saving the money and having a tune installed to fix the shifting.

Not really looking for more power. Just hate that the transmission seems like it’s being controlled by a bunch of feral cats.

Ive heard alot of modern vehicles only give you 80% throttle on a full throttle start untill like 2500 or 3000rpm.

Drive it awhile, it has to learn you. Until then it will be pretty stupid.
