This is Why You Never Run Extended Oil Change Intervals on The Ford Ecoboost Engines! - FordTechMakuloco

huge fan of the 2.0 and 2.3 Ecoboost engines. the later 6 cyclone and nano as well.

if you drive 5 to 7 k miles per month using top tier oil and high efficiency filters, with low idle time and not severe towing/lugging, changing oil at 10 k or maybe more is not an issue if you change the filter at 5k. its always running ideal.

outside of that, light to normal use 5k is max. if it idles allot 3k. spark plugs should be closely monitored as well.

any thing with cam phasers, or aome sort of VT get a bypass filter if you can afford it. AND change the oil anyway......

these engines highly maintained easily make 250 plus k with mild tunes.

get all of the fittings and lines for the turbos here and there and just change it all out at 40 to 60 k. best way to go and spark plugs and throttle body cleaning if you are not catch canned.

^Yea, I've seen that illustration before. Was hoping to hear from someone who's actually replaced the filter.

Well, with that as a visual reference.. all it'll take is popping the hood to see how difficult it'll be.

I change my 2023 Ranger oil every 5K miles, with full synthetic. The Oil Life Monitor says I still have "60%" oil life left.

Geez. Oil cheap. Engine not.

CMOS
Same here. I also discovered that the larger FL-400S or equivalent fits fine.
Got an Mobil 1 M1-209 this week. Total overkill but since Walmart is charging $8.44 for a Motorcraft, what the hell?

Advance was offering Motorcraft filters with their oil packages this time. So, both trucks got a Motorcraft filter this time.
