If you are, I dont mean to be rude, but isnt money already really tight for you? I mean you are worrying about keeping your truck on the road, and yet you want the additional expense of a dog. Food and vetrinary expenses. And lets not forget that you need to invest a lot of time into a dog.

I don't know, I'm just thinking about a small dog because I probably wont have room for a big dog when I get my first place. I like Bostons, but they tend to piss me off. Had one leap up and steal a cookie out of my mouth once.

The dog is different from the auto parts. My aunt will buy me the dog of my choice (under 1000) because she STRONGLY believes no boy should grow up without one at any point in his life. Ahh, them southern women. Too few and far between up here. I can get food for cheap, and vet expenses would be taken care of by my parents until I'm out on my own. A little crying when the dogs hurt always helps. People just can't bear to see a 17 year old cry. Ha.

bostons dont get much bigger then a pug .. my next choice would be basset hound or english bulldog

I thought about a basset because then I could hunt with it, but the short leg thing just isn't my style.

get a german sheperd. they are good loyal dogs and they dont get too big(at least mine didnt. i miss them). you truck will get more looks with a sheperd in it than a little dog. you also wont need a car alarm or house alarm either. just sayin my opinion.

Any other dogs I would say a German Sheperd, Husky, or Boxer.

I know a guy that has a Blue Heeler, small and does a damn good job at what it does (brings in the sheep).

Well, my brother has a boxer. The whole drooling thing, not for me.

German Shepards and Huskies are big dogs, that would need room that I don't plan on having for the next few years. Besides, I have plans to get a Black German Shepard and a Red/white Husky.

Before anyone suggests, no I will not get an Eskimo. They're small and cute but my girlfriend has one, and dealing with two of the same dog would not be fun for me. I want something different from other people in some way.

Sounds like you need a Heeler or Aussie. Animals with flat faces like pugs have nasal problems and are usually more susceptible to sickness.

+1 on the Heeler....... cept they are not good apartment dogs ...... they need to be taken out and ran everyday.
