Thinking about a Pug.

Hey i happen to have a 9 month old pug and its a good dog. you have to train them young but i like her alot though she cant get into the ranger

I didn't say they werent good dogs......... its just they breath funny and the sound grates on my nerves.

my friends parents have 6 pugs, 5 tan ones and one black one....betcha cant guess what he calls that one.......and no, dont post the answer please.

careful with heelers though my bro had on and they stick to one person and everyone else the dog is real aggesive, my brothers kid has a big scar on his face form where the dog attacked him out of no where so chose wisely

you have to get them as a pup and they have to grow up with the kids. usually in that situation the pick one of the kids as "the one" (usually rhe non-dominant kid) but typically they will accept anybody you do as long as they make no aggressive moves.

True a pup is the way to go on most dogs but i have seen some that are really good with everyone they come across just train them in a none aggressive way.

yeah thats all we had on the ranch for working dogs was heelers, we had 1 German Shepard (got him from the Hillsboro Police Department, fully trained but wasn't aggressive enough to be a police dog) and 1 Rottweiler, but all the working dogs were heelers.

I shall respectfully disagree with you.

Most people think labs are ,happy go lucky dogs and for the most part that is true. They love kids and are gentle to a fault even for their size ( mine are 105,120 lbs) hyperness wears off at 1 1/2 to 2 yrs. Loyal, gentle, BUT large males can be VERY territorial, I would not suggest sticking your hand inside HIS pickup. All in all I dont think you can go wrong with labs.

i would go for a german shepard or a lab. the best dogs ive had were mutts and were free. but thats just my opinion.

How about a Shih-tzu. Their a little bigger than a pug. Don't eat much. Self dependent. Don't shed, but will need to be groomed (naturally long hair, but can be cut short). Great alarm dog (very acute hearing, one unnatural sound and she is on alarm mode). Can have a unqiue personality (and use it to bend your willing powers to their level).

get a boston terrier .. ive had both and still have the boston terrier right now

seconded!
I love me a snub nose dog!

Don't buy it, get it from a rescue. Even a puppy from a rescue is ok....too many bought dogs :(

what you mean, I have been on this waiting list to get a heeler from this breeder for 2 years (I got the only blue Female in the litter). The rescues and shelters want you to "fix" the dogs, I want a breeding pair
