Cigarette lighters were always entertaining even if you didn't smoke...
and speaking of passenger eject / fire missle button... I was at autozone today and they had cigarette lighters that had anodized aluminum knobs with "Passenger Eject" "Fire Missle" "Nitrous" and a few others. thought about getting one, but the edge does not have a cigarette lighter just a 12v port. The Ranger has one, but it is broken away from the bezel. fixed it once, did not hold. I believe my 2010 Buick had an ashtray and cigarette lighter (which the lighter was missing) but the Ex's 2015 Escape did not. so it has probably been at least 10 years since that was anb actual option.,
sealed beam headlights. changing them out was simple, but they failed on water intrusion in the halogen versions. had a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis in 1999 that had 4 original lights, 3 the seal between the lense and the reflector had failed, and the reflector chrom was peeling inside due to the water. the 4th had a hole in it from a rock. changed them all out, much brighter, and harvested the lens covers of the 3 good ones. they make nice trays for a spoon ladle, holding small things etc..
buttons/ levers instead of touch screen is a must. it is safer, it is easier. I will say that my 2020 Edge has actual buttons and switches for 98 percent of the stuff, some has touch screen as well as the switches, and the only thing that I actually have to go through the touch screen to activate that I give a poop about is the heated steering wheel. all of the other functions have discreet switches or knobs. My sisters's 2022 Outback is a touchscreen nightmare lol. good car otherwise though.
And yeah, plastic bumper shells are teh suck. a nice steel bumper that will survive a 5 mph crash would be nice.
