The Titanic ; 1991 Explorer 4 door

well they were like 7 bucks a tire then environmental fees. total was 36 bucks and they were pretty much brand new... still had nipples. budget building sucks but i got permission from the wifey to let me finish my lift if i scrapped the sas idea. I agreed...

Skyjacker FA600

.

Judging by your pics, I think someone sold you the wrong arm, that does not look like the FA600 arm to me at all :dunno:

Check it against here

Truck looks good otherwise though. Now you just need a bumper for it :icon_welder:

looks like a stock arm to me. does it look stock to you?

its the standard dropped arm. measuring down from where they measure, its 5-5.5". so its the middle image.

Yeah, I'd take that back (especially if they charged you for a FA600 arm), I can see it's too short looking at the linkage in your pic.

so i looked back and found out that it was sold to me as a FA400 arm. i must not of been thinkin about it and thought it was a fa600... but hey, i may have it back up for sale after using it for only a few weeks. i need the FA600 because i may still add 2" more of suspension later.

Check out my BII Cardomain page, I got some pics of my arms up on there.

With your lift being taller, you might want to tip the tube upward just a bit more than I did so you won't need a big long bracket hanging down from the frame to set your caster angle properly.:icon_thumby:

ok new issue... my speedo is off, common lifted truck problem. i know i need to change my speedo gear but what do i change it to? my tire diameter (from bfg) is 32.05. my gear ratio is 3.55. way high i know...

how do i figure up for which gear i need?

Are you gonna do gears or any taller tires ever? If you do, your speedo will be off again. In my case, I am not done yet so I haven't messed with anything yet, but i did do the math so I know how fast i am going. What I did was figure the circumference of the stock tire, then of my tall tire, then divide the smaller into the bigger and it will give you a percent. Your new tires take that much more to make one revolution, so in theory your speedo would be that far off.

Man.....this is confusing as hell. All I know, in my case my 33's are 12% bigger than the stockers (235/75/15), so when my speedo is reading 100 mph I am going 112 mph and so on. I checked it and it is right and helps my figure my MPG easier.

Or, someone could tell you something useful to help you! If it didn't take me so long to type this I would just delete the whole thing...LOL

Good luck!!

i don't think i'll be goin 112... its not safe at 70. how fast are you goin vs. your speedo at 55? you have the same stock specs n stuff as i do. 33" mudz and 235 stockers.

I don't go 112 either, it is just easy to explain it that way. If your speedo was reading 50 you would be doing 56. Basically 3 MPH added on for every 25MPH.

ya i understood.
