Hey, I noticed that my speakers behind the seats are not working. The fader is in the middle, movin fader to back there is no sound. Any recommendations about how to go about solving this? I wish i had some radio keys, maybe some wire just god unplugged from the back of the radio.

Just a thought,

I removed my deck using some small hex keys, so if you wanted to check the wire, just use some hex heys from your toolbox, and push em in until they click. Dont, have my stock deck anymore though. Anyways, just something you might want to try.

do you know if the speakers are good? The speakers behind the seat are easy to pull.

I would pull them and check them first. If you have another ford speaker you could then also connect it and see if the wires are good.

If the connection came out on the radio you wouldn't get sound on any of the speakers.

UPDATE: I'm retarded. I don't know why i went out and bought car keys to inspect the back of the radio before i removed the panels for the speakers. After doing so, i discovered that the only thing there was wires... I guess my truck didn't even come with any.

Will speakers back there improve my sound? I love METAL. I would like speakers that gave a more full sound, but don't necessarily have to be great with bass. Although i would like a nice bass pedal sound. But yeh, is it possible to pick up anything decent for like 50 dollars?

are your door speakers stock? if they are, i would upgrade those and throw the stock in teh rear. im just assuming you have 5x7/6x8 front and back. a few people on here like the budge pioneers from walmart. i think hteyre under $50. good luck.

i think i found what you are talking about @ walmart, they are 53 dollars iirc. I also found these for 29

but you couldn't listen to them. Not worth saving 20 dollars? I know nothing about this company "dual"

In my opinion, the best bet for speakers are the pioneer's from walmart. I bought 2 pairs for my truck, but then I upgraded the front pair to components. They are inexpensive but kick hard. They actually have louder bass response than my components... For the price I dont think they can be beat, and they fit into the stock speaker holes with no modification required. I'll sell you a pair of mine if you want them.

I put some mid-end memphis speakers in my old 96 ranger and they sounded great. I cant remember if they were 120 for all 4 or 120 per pair..... i dunno... But they sounded great. They didnt have a ton of bass (but i has 2 12" memphis subs in there so i was looking for some treble). If you are looking for some Bass for your Metal without having subs, i would go for some kind of Component speakers or Kicker speakers. I just hate stock speakers because they usually sound like junk. I have had quite a few vehicles, and i only kept the stock speakers in one of them. It was my Oldsmobile Aurora.... they had Stock Bose.... sounded good enough to not upgrade.

my stock ones sound alright, they can go loud enough to make my ears ring without getting too distorted. i read the door ones are 5.5 inches or something, and not 6x8? 98 ranger with a reg cab is what i drive. I'd like to replace these too. And would you guys recommend not ghetto rigging the wrong size speakers? cause i saw 2 6x9's and 2 6.5's on craigslist, they were new and Sony xplods, and they were 40 dollars. obviously sold in a second but i couldve had them but i figured it would've been a headache fabricating some kind of holding for them.

also i think the walbutt speakers were 240 watt. does this make any diff with a stock radio?

stock speakers cannot compare to aftermarket speakers. they sound good, until you've heard better speakers. Then you will never go back to stock. I just put some 6.5" kickers in my doors, wasnt hard to fab a mount for them. I just made a big 0 out of wood, wide enough to overhang the original hole, with a hole in the middle wide enough to put my new speaker in. Then i screwd the speaker into the wood into the door with the original bolts.

My truck didn't come with those speakers either.

I wouldn't even bother with rear speakers. They're aimed right into the back of the seat and you'll hardly hear them at all. It's like screaming into a pillow. Spend the money on a really good set of front speakers and call it a day.

That's not true at all. The rear speakers make a huge difference. I had mine disconnected for a while to run just my sub in the back (turned the fader to the back a little and turned up the bass since I don't have an amp yet) but I just re-connected them and the difference is incredible. I have 4 of the pioneer 6x8's (they work great) and a 12" kicker comp vr and it sounds great.
