I am having a hard time keeping up with all this information. Maybe I should start a list of state that I will not move to. That might help.
TN is nice, we have family there. i just do not like the cost of land.
CO is soem place I have always wanted to see. If the trails are not being clsoed like I have heard, then it is still a possibility. What about the gun laws?
OR is a place I want to see very badly, but the lack of jobs is a concern. Not to mention the tree huggers. How are the cops paid?
AR is some place I ahve not thought much about. WHat are the land prices like?
i live in NE arkansas. its a good place if you want to be close to TN (i'm about 45 minutes from memphis). but its mostly flat land. NW arkansas has the ozarks. hot springs is more south-west, and i'd like to live there eventually.
in my area, i bought (about 2 years ago) a (2004 build) 1100 sq ft, 3 bed, 1.5 bath on a little over an acre, right outside of town, for around $74,000. not sure about (per acre) land prices, it'll vary from place-to-place.
oh yeah, you can get a CCW pretty easy.
I cannot believe I forgot this on my list.
I want to live in a biker friendly state as well. I have a cruiser and I will have and R1 by the time I get home. I would prefer a state that does not have a helmet law.
lots of rallies around here. eureka springs is a do-able drive, lots of people around here go up there for rallies as well. my personal feelings about helmet laws aside, we don't have a helmet law. i see yuppies in shorts, flip-flops, and a baseball cap, riding crotch rockets all day long. but lots of every type of bike here. harleys, cruisers, customs, goldwings, etc....
When my kids graduate, Vanessa and I want to move to northeast Tennessee and leave Ohio. Ohio has a lot of entertainment and I always loved growing up in greater Cleveland, but I like the country settings better.
When we move to northeast Tennessee, we will be able to make an easy weekend trip to Hazard Kentucky, Windrock (Coal Creek) or Tellico. Plus you have the Smokey Mountain attractions. It will also put me close to Bristol to see some NHRA or or NASCAR racing.
Washington? Heck, even James Duff left Washington to move to Tennessee.
thats cool. between james duff, quite a few rbv owners, and the other attractions of E TN, i really need to take a vacation out there sometime (Tellico is about a 500 mile drive for me, not too bad)
