Ford released a new coolant awhile ago and it seems that it has many great benefits over the green (IAT), orange (OAT), and gold (HOAT) coolant. I'm currently rebuilding/restoring my 1999 Ranger XLT with the 3.0L V6 with a new motor and cooling system parts. I want to get away from the old green stuff since many of the newer coolants offer many benefits and these engine have so many cooling issues already. Should I go to the new POAT stuff or just stick with the old green stuff?

@NPdarkside21 ,
I have only ever used the green stuff except for a GM engine that "recommended" the orange. What benefits do the other coolants offer?

Ford has found that the orange coolant is too acidic and switched back to a version of gold. It’s not the old gold, so don’t mix them up if you have a vehicle that requires the new A2 spec.

For tour truck, A1 will work perfectly fine. So G05 and the like can be used with no problems. If you want the specific specs and want to see what is compatible and what isn’t, go to the Motorcraft site and look up the spec. Then you can see what the auto parts stores offer that meets the spec you need.
