good luck with that paint matching. it looks like an E9 paint code (3 stage paint)

i got the same paint code on my GT and i got acidwash all over the back, i was told i might have to have the entire car repainted.

so it turns out, my buddies stang was a dealers mistake. it was ordered as a gt, but they accidently put a six in it. so the person who oredered it, refused to pick it up. so somehow my friend ended up buying it.

i guess there arent too many 6 banger gts around here. guess i should just stick with chevys where i belong, you know, along with my ranger of course

ahh yes the $500 deals All my trucks were under a grand since I'm only 18, I try to get em as cheap as I can, since I don't have a large income as it is

more than likely it was slated to be an SVT or a Saleen..... those used to be shipped with a V6 in them before Ford started cross shipping incomplete cars.

well, either way, the people that were sayin its one key, are SEMI correct, according to the locksmith there is only 10 cuts on the key for the door, and there are 12 cuts on the key for the ignition, SO, if i get the key cut for just the door then it wont work in the ignition, i have to get either a key cut from the ignition (them coming out or me towing the car there) and cost me a fortune, or just have them make all 10 possibilities of the ignition key and just try each one till i find one that works

IIRC, SVT cars were turbo 4..

Not in '96... that style never got a four cylinder. The turbo 4 died for the Mustang in '86.

If the ignition key doesn't match the doors someone messed with the locks, they should match.

you are thinking of SVO. SVT = special vehicle team..... ie Lightning, Cobra, Contour SVT, Focus SVT, ...........

If the ignition key doesn't match the doors someone messed with the locks, they should match.

the reason the doors and the ignition are different is because the ignition requires the security chip in the key for the anti theft system

My F-150 has a chip in the key too, and it only has one key.

There is nothing special about the key aside from the chip, it works the door locks the same as the ignition. I had a dummy key made to keep in my wallet (that wasn't $50 and quarter of an inch thick) and it does everything as well. The ignition turns and the engine cranks over but won't start.
