So I'm working at building my 07 Ranger. My question is; Can I swap my coil spring front end with a torsion bar front end from an 02 without any fab work? I'm trying to build in stages so this will allow me to put my tires, fiberglass, and bumpers on while deciding on which suspension I want to go with. Let me know so I can get this going. Thanks!

Why do you want to go with a torsion bar setup? IMO you should stick with coils.

Am going to go back to coils. But in the meantime I was thinking of swapping to torsion bars so that I can get everything else put together and on, instead of having to do everything all at once.

But you don't need torsion bars to build in stages.:icon_confused:

No you cannot. They are completely different suspensions. Your best bet would be to swap frames. There would be your "bolt-on" torsion bar suspension.

Thanks. Decided to just get some 3" spindles instead.

I just looked at my 2000.
The aft brackets for the Tbar mount would go on (way back) easily (nothing there right now) and the Lower Control Arm already has the forward Tbar keyway, I'm guessing it's the same.

What makes you say it's completely different suspension?

I'm guessing the 07 isn't much different, coil spring setup-wise.

I'd go so far as to say, all you'd need are those aft Tbar mount/adjustment bolt/key/brackets and Tbars. Quick trip to the JY. Remove the coilsprings and done.

Want a photo? I really don't want to roll it up on ramps and take one, but I've looked for differences and don't see any. There's already a proper set of dual purpose spindles installed, rather lower control arms I should say..

Tell me why it wouldn't be that simple.

wait is this for a two wheel drive ranger casue if so i have no clue but if it is a 4x4 ranger and you want to put a coil set up like a ttb i dont think it would work on the new ifs ranger... just my two cents

This one has me totally confused! Your truck has coils on it now? Is it 4x4 or 2x4? I have not seen a 4x4 ranger since the going away of TTB that had coils just the torsion bars. Coil setups are a lot better system than the torsion bars imo. Now the 2x4 rangers had coils.

no, it wont fit. you need shocks, UCA, spindle, LCA t bar, mounts. if your trying to lift it the spindles are the best idea. swaping so you can crank t bars is a horrible idea.
