All in all I have just around 70-80 bucks into this paint job, give or take a few bucks, including paint/ thinner/ tape/ masking paper/ sand paper/ cleaners...etc.

Ok I figured it would post about my freshly finished paint job. I was lucky enough to use my works really nice spray gun so that helped out a lot.

Paint used: rustoleum gloss charcoal gray enamel paint, 2-3 quarts are needed

Thinner: paint thinner/ mineral spirits. I thinned it 15% by weight.

Prep: started by cleaning it really well with dawn soap to de-grease it. Sanded with 220, then went over it again with 400. Once it was all sanded I fought the truck to work and removed or masked off the item needed, cleaned the truck again and used wax and grease remover to make sure she was clean. Right before spraying I wiped the truck down with a tack cloth.

Left it at work over the weekend, on Monday reassembled the truck and drive it home.

That turned out amazing, especially for the price. Good job!

Thanks man! Yeah can't beat the cost. This is two coats, I will most likely through another coat on there, hopefully cover up some of the imperfections from spraying outside and a few spots of shoddy prep work.

Any problems with orange peel? Painting my withy the same paint but the medium blue(which is a shade or two lighter then grabber blue)?

Not really too bad, it's there... But for the price I can't complain. Here are a few close ups of the finish

First one is a good spot(most of the truck) second one is my a spot where I failed at the prep work... 100% my failure.

Beautiful job! Hope it sticks well. I like it. :headbang:

Nope, I have not. What you see is directly from the gun. I still plan on doing one more coat, but no plans as of yet for clear coat or cut and buff.

I did two coats on the tail gate and it evened out the finish really nicely, let me run back to the paint booth and snap a picture of that.

For the money it would be hard to beat that paint job, nice work !

Thanks man! I can't complain. I painted my bumpers and wheels and swapped grilles.

Looks a lot better with the black accents.
