The fluid goes from the trans, to the top of the radiator, then out the bottom, right? Or is it the other way around?

Goes trans - rad - external cooler - back to trans. Just follow the lines.

OK so you're sure it goes to the radiator first, not the external cooler first? I installed an in-line filter and the fluid can only flow one way through it, and I wanted to make sure I put it on the right way.

Bump...NEED THIS QUESTION ANSWERED ASAP. I can't use the truck until I figure this out!!! (And I really need to use my truck!!!!)

I guess this isn't such a stupid question after all.

Disconnect one hose and start the truck for a few seconds. Observe which end fluid squirts out and you will know which direction the flow is.

The hot trans fluid follows the same route that the antifreeze follows; from the transmission to the TOP of the radiator, then out of the bottom of the radiator and back to the transmission.

If you have a factory external cooler as well, then it would come from the transmission to the TOP of the radiator, out the bottom to the aux cooler, then to the transmission.

Yes, mjones, you're right. I found out the answer earlier today. Thanks everybody.
