Nice looking project, I'm digging the gold motor and blue seats....

No update pictures since my camera clapped out, but I've been busy.

The frame, cab and box are all disassembled, ready for sand/soda blasting, hopefully in the next couple weeks. There is no longer any part that can't be carried by two guys! I'll very soon be done messing with any rusty junk and just be dealing with clean painted parts :yahoo:

The rear end build is also underway. I have a 92 8.8 rear with 31 spline Detroit Truetrac, Moser custom alloy axles, c-clip eliminators, 3.73 gears, and Competition Engineering Slide-A-Link traction bars.

Well, it is totally disassembled. Not a single fastener of any kind on the frame, cab or box. I'll be taking the frame to be blasted, and the cab and box into the body shop as soon as I have a chance. It's all loaded up on the trailer.

Cab off, box still on.

Its upside down! All rusty brackets cut off the frame. Ordered new leaf spring hangers and one front spring bucket.

This is where the rear suspension used to be

This is one rusty bucket. Note the big hole in it. I was very relieved that the frame under this was unaffected. Luckily the driver's side had a leaky power steering pump to keep it looking like new.

This will be the end of working with junk. Everything from this point forward will be with clean, freshly painted parts.

Sandblasted frame, still needs a few small touchups.

New crossmember and spring buckets. I sprayed red oxide primer under the joints so it won't bleed rust. The Ford paint on these brackets was kinda shitty, so I wanted to get them all painted together.

F1 tailgate with Ford script. A little rough, but the script is intact.

I can not wait to see thise truck start to go back together. And that tail gate is a fine addition.

I sure can't wait to see a few painted parts. The biggest trouble I am having now is finding bedsides for the body shop.

Have you thought about round head lights. that would give it a old school look that you maybe looking for. if you look up copykat, he is the one who started the round headlight trend.

I took a look at that and it looks nice. Has anyone done it to an 89-92? Keep in mind I've already bought new 92 front sheetmetal pieces.

I just don't think it could be done with a 92 frontend honestly.

Are you lowering the truck at all?

No, not lowered at all, I'll see how it sits when its done. Might raise it a little in front. I'm planning to run tall 60's style piecrust cheater slicks and narrow bias plies in front for a vintage gasser look.

Its going to be a good looking truck. I like the valve covers. To clean up the engine bay I used a Wilwood master cylinder and no booster, factory Ford 11" discs F & R. Truck stops just fine.

The gasser look would be nice, especially with the direction your headed with the interior. Not something you will see everyday for sure, and I like that :icon_thumby:
