Street Beat Customs disaster - beware!

Jim O. I would NOT be knocking off this company if they are MAKING THINGS RIGHT. Okay, so let the company make things right, don't just say they suck.

Always let the company make things right. All I am saying, is give them a chance.

I think he's given them about enough chance to make things right... any company that gives you the runaround like they did, then sends you the WRONG part has used up all their chances in my books.

I've been giving them a chance. I posted that I was getting better customer service than Vanessa was. But I'm also posting what's going on as it happens.

Well.......

Good news - Bad news:

Good news: The lights finally showed up Monday (14th)

Bad news: Vanessa is not happy with the quality and thinks I should send them back.

There is a ring where the headlight bulb is and then a projector light off to the side of that. If you look in the pick, you can see the bottom of the ring isn't chromed all the way and you can see runs from the finish/plating process. It's visible in the reflection when you look at the light.

What do you guys think? Keep them or return them? She spent around $145.00 (I think) on these.

eww, that does look bad. If you'd spent less I might say live with it, but for almost $150 bucks and all the trouble you had to go through with this guy.... thats a nasty defect for all that.

I wouldn't bother unless it affects the light pattern. It took how long to get these - can you imagine if they had to send you another pair?

What do you guys think? Keep them or return them?

Since I build these things for a fricking living, I would live with it. Optically it will not affect performance, and really nobody will notice it. I would like to see the overall picture of the lamp, arms length in truck position... uh yeah look at the overall looks, it appears it is ACCEPTABLE. The sputtering process is performed by evacuating the chamber containing the parts to be coated down to an atmosphere around 760 Torr. Using a combination of vacuum pumps. Once the chamber reaches the processing vacuum level the sputtering process begins.

First Argon is introduced into the chamber. Next, a high negative voltage around -1600 VDC is applied to the Cathode/Sputtering Target. This high voltage rips an electron from the Argon creating a positively charged Argon Ion and a high energy plasma. This Ion is accelerated into the target material by a high negative (-700 VDC) voltage which is applied to the cathode/target. When the Ion collides with the target material atoms of the target material are ejected away from the target surface depositing on the parts in the chamber, clearly that is where the issue lies, either not cost effective to fix, etc.

Thus because they are relatively cheap(these are no Hellas), and are offshore, quality suffers and they are much more likely to send and approve defects. But the optics is what matters, and the reflector finish looks quite good, that is the important thing, I don't give a crap if you got "euro", if the beam pattern sucks, you might be a city slicker.:annoyed:

In the world of optics, as in virtually everything else, you get what you pay for. The production of a high-quality optical component is a slow process. Not only is it a slow process but HOPEFULLY the lamps are built well enough to keep out condensate!!! The two enemies, accurate optics, and keeping the lamp free from condensate on the inside, meaning some good engineering.(which is quite LACKING in many euro designs)

I am glad you got your parts, and maybe you can sell your OEM headlamps on Ebay and recoup the cost.

Buyer beware!!!

I have also had a bad experience with Kasa Auto Parts! When we ordered wheels for my wife`s audi I specifically asked them on two different occasions that if the wheels did not fit would there be any return shipping or restocking fee`s and was told no, there would be no charge to me to return the wheels if they did not fit. Needless to say the wheels did not fit as promised by MyHotAudi.com and after countless emails and phone calls they refused to give us the information we needed to return the wheels. First they wanted something from the local tire store stating they didn`t fit then they wanted pictures of the wheels so they could see they weren`t damaged! We gave them everything they asked for and then they just refused to deal with our request. We finally had to resort to having the charges reversed on our credit card to get their attention. Now they want us to pay the $150.00 shipping charges to return their wheels that did not fit! When I called them and told them I would not pay the shipping charges to return the wheels they told me they will be filing a police report!

Chevyguy:

Try www.parts4audis.com for ANYthing Audi-related. I know the owner personally, and he is a stand-up guy. He has probably 25 years in the VW and Audi parts game, and knows his business. He is the ONLY source I go to for my VW/Audi parts, both OEM and aftermarket. Call Mike or Kristen Potter: 1-888-389-7278 (3VW-PART).

You won't get the wrong parts, and you WILL get great advice and service.

Jim: What did you wind up doing about the lights?

Just found your website its pretty cool.Anyways the way i came across it was i typed in streat beat custom rip off and found your forum.Sounds like i not the only one that been jacked around. They sent me wrong grille ,polished not anodized black, then they asked for picks for return and i said i could tell the diff between black and polished and its wrong.I gave in and sent pics but now they say they not sending shipping label for their mess up because i asked for refund instead of replacement part.I just want money back and no deal with them anymore so now they say i pay for shipping. What a crappy way to do business, and a shame to because have alot of products but crappy set up.OH and i asked how to contact owner and "Dereck" states they dont hand that info out and he the highest up to talk to.I and alot of other people not using this company. Also posted on other forums and put them on Ripoff Report website!!!!
