Okay, just got an email from Anthony at Stone Crusher that my steering kit is shipping today.:yahoo: Will have it Wed. and if all goes well it will be installed and aligned on Thursday. Will keep everyone posted as to how it turns out. Can't wait to see how it handles and tracks after it is installed.:icon_thumby:

Nice. You gotta post some pics when you get it on.

Ah, so yours must be the pics he sent me the other day of the new saddle. Said he had a few going out this week. Hope you like it. Pics please when you get it on. If you need any help, feel free to msg me and I will do what I can to help you out.

Thanks That guy. Have to tell you, had spoke to Thomas at James Duff and then Anthony. Both mentioned your truck and then I looked up your pics and thread. At that time you were running the 5.5 stage 3 kit and the stone crusher steering system. Thank you for posting the info and pics that you did.
My next step is to order and install the stage 3 5.5" kit from James Duff. The last time I spoke to them they had the new coil buckets almost ready. The new ones being the ones able to accept both the RBV coils and the EB coils.

Got my steering system today. Scheduled to install and align on Tues the 29th.. Will keep everyone posted.

So I take it you're not doing the installation? When we done mine in Anthony's garage we set the toe-out to 1/8". This was done with a tape so might not be the most accurate. They may have to check it a time or two to get it right.

When you get it setup correctly it would be a big help if you posted your alignment specs to kinda give a ballpark figure better than my crude 1/8" out.

I'm doing at a buddy of mine's shop. Unfortunately most of my tools are in storage as, due to a divorce, I don't have a garage to work in. He has a full shop and an alignment rack to do the alignment on afterwards. I would imagine he will align it to factory specs. The installation looks very straight forward and we don't think it will take long to install. Fortunately he has alot of experience with aftermarket/performance parts.

Hey everyone..well finally got my stone crusher steering kit on. :yahoo: Installation was a snap, the hardest part was drilling out the pitman arm and knuckles to 3/4".
I can say that so far I'm very pleased with it. It is pretty much bulletproof whenb compared to the factory set up. I'm going to reinstall a steering stabilizer after I put the 5.5" stage 3 James Duff kit in. The steering stabilizer bracket that bolts onto the draglink I'm going to weld on rather than bolt it.:icon_welder:
I'll submit pics shortly, have to figure how to resize them.:icon_confused:

you said you drilled everything out to 3/4". Does that mean you used 3/4-3/4 heim joints?

Yeah, the heim bolts are 3/4". They are huge and much heavier than I'll ever need.

just an FYI. 3/4-3/4 heims have a tendancy to crack/break around the outter casing. 3/4-5/8 heims are the better, and stronger choice. For future reference and anyone else reading this.

I was gonna msg you the other day and ask if you had ever gotten it put on. The steering stabilizer won't be necessary. I drove mine on the interstate many times and never had a problem even with not so balanced 35s.

Here is mine

That's all there is to the infamous "stonecrusher" steering? I'm surprised no one else makes anything like this. Two lengths of heavy wall tube, four rod ends and some misc hardware and you're in business.
