I forgot to measure before I lifted my truck. Now I'm trying to get a good idea how much lift I got. I need a stock ride height. I know spring sag and there are a lot of variables. But can someone post the difference between the center of the hub to the fender? I loooked at the stock photo and it looks like the '4' in 4x4 is about the distance between the tire and the fender...so I measured the lifted distance and subtracted the distance of the '4' and got about 7.5" lift...not sure if thats right. Anyway, its belltech shackles and Chevy 63's

Thanks!

Any help? Don't make me go prowl the Walmart parking lot looking for Rangers to measure! People don't like it!

Well, I just checked my BIIs because my Rangers will definately be different than yours.. ('96 4x4 and '03 4x2) Here's what I got. Both of them are riding very close to original without sag:

'84 - rear = 17.75"
'84 - frt = 18.0"

'88 - rear = 17.5"
'88 - frt = 17.25"

Measurements taken from center of hub to top of fender.

Thank you so much!

Do bII's have factory 2" blocks?

Not that I'm aware of. I can check in the morning.

Your before pic is a nice broadside, can you draw a line across the rear wheel well to an approximate point on your wheel and measure the difference that way?

Well I measured mine from the center of the hub to the fender and it was 22.5". So about 5" of lift.

BTW - checked the springs, they're bolted directly to the axle perches. So in answer to your question; there are no blocks, stock or otherwise.

Looks like you got your lift answer.. 5"?

unless I only got 3" of lift. Because if I removed my factory blocks the distance between mine and yours would only be 3".

Well, you gotta like the fact that there's no block in there now. It looks like you have a nice lift. What were you trying to accomplish? Are you trying now to figure out the shocks and such?

This is how to measure ride height on a Dana 28 according to the Ford manual. Stock ride height is shown.
