I cannot for the life of me get this to work without a server to connect to. I was hoping someone on here could either link me to the info or let me know. I just want to practice my database skills. I have searched the Internet and it only shows how to take a database offline, which I already know how to. I just wanna know how to start making databases in an offline setting. It seems like it is made so you have to have a server.

Could I possibly trick it by making a server 2008 Virtual Machine, then install SQL Server Management Studio on a Virtual Machine of Windows 7 and install it on that and connect to the 2008 one?
Any help appreciated, thank you.

Nvm, I just downloaded virtual PC and copied the lab file from school and it runs fine. Now I can practice. I'm gonna try to be the software/hardware tech guy for my city's school system... well see how that goes...
