Spindle shaft seal part numbers

Hey guys, I have a 97 Ranger 4WD and I've been rebuilding the passenger side of my front end. I'm trying to find comprible replacement spindle seal. This is the seal that rides along the front drive axle and butts up agasint the spindle. I believe it's a dust seal, I've searched the numbers and I'm getting all different type of parts from National, Timken etc, a post from here also appears when I search FORSHEDA 10.054, but it's for DANA 44 while I have a DANA 35, while I understand they share simlar parts. Just need confirmation.

SBK4 is the part number for the part set from Autozone. Has the dust seal, spindle seal, and a new needle bearing for the spindle

I was gonna say, it's far easier to get it together like that.^

If you don't, it's possible to get a stack of parts that don't fit together. BTDT

Can you tell me what any of this is. I see the needle bearing and I understand that's inside the spindle. But that larger on seal on the bottom left doesn't seem to match, the lip also seems at an angle? What are those other parts go to? Do they go behind the needle bearing? I haven't taken my needle bearing out. I've been keeping it in there and I've moved it with my fingers and it seems to be good, however, I'm not against replacing it.

Audio isn’t great but here is a video I did awhile back on doing the SBK-4 kit. I didn’t use the needle bearing because my bearings were really good still but I have replaced them before. I need to do a better video at some point

Thanks, I just watched your video. So I'm a little confused because when I pulled my stuff apart I never saw that steel ring on the outside of my yoke. I just had the rubber seal. I'll check when I get home tonight but I've taken apart and repainted my front drive shaft and I'm almost certain there was no metal ring there. In terms of the rubber, seal does it go in either direction? Thanks

Depending on who made the seal depends on if it’s steel or rubber

The rubber seal that goes in the spindle against the bearing goes the groove side out. The rubber piece on the stub shaft goes flat side against the steel

Okay, I bought one of the sbk4. None of this makes any sense. I decided to knock the bearing out of my existing spindle just to see what's there. Maybe I understand the metal ring which I researched is called the slinger to snaps on to the yoke portion of the drive shaft like I have in the picture. However, when I knock my bearing out, I have this metal ring with a rubber seal on the inside. That's not in the kit? Does this other black smaller ring take the place of it? Also, there's a plastic spacer. Which direction does that go?

The main seal, I I put it over top of the slinger ring, is that position correct? Correct where the flat side goes against the ring, the angle side goes towards the spindle?

Okay, I think I got it. I watched your video at home. So that little seal that I currently have that's in the spindle, the one with the metal ring, I guess that gets thrown away. The plastic flat ring goes after the metal slinger (which direction?) and the way I have the larger seal over the metal slinger is correct.

The little tiny seal that comes in the smaller bag with the bearing goes grove side facing inwards or towards the vehicle.

Why are these parts different than what I already have?

Dana changed the design around 93. The hard parts are the same but the seal setup is different. That's why we get the kit. At least all of the parts in it are matched.

When I did mine last time the kit came with a paper explaining that it might not match what you have and showing the stacking order...
