Well finally after just about a year of BS I finally got to test out my ranger off road. It all started last May with installing the lift, then came the axles & lockers, tires & flares and just recently completed the 4.0 swap. I've still got to throw an Aerostar 8.8 in the rear to widen the stance as well as mount my warn 9.5ti. and the rear bumper with swingaway tire carrier
Here's the gang at the trail head airing down and off loading their rigs
A friend had some issues with his klune valve, so we had to bust the bead in order to fix the problem
Then it was off to bjs loop to play around in the river
The buggy and Tom's FJ did marginally better then the mighty ranger
The buggy playing on the rocks
Tom washing his tires
and taking the hard way out to the fsr
Then it was off to 6' under & some snow
We had a quick lunch there and us Ford guys split up to carry on into even more snow.
It was pretty much a battle all the way to canopener
an uphill battle
and a downhill battle
Wil & his toyota caught up with us as the buggy didn't fare well in snowy conditions and Tom was having issues with his front locker so they called it a day
We carried on and worked through a few good stucks
The snow conditons were interesting to say the least
My winchless winch bumper worked more like a shovel in some of the cross ditches
So what else could I do but make snow art
All in all I was fairly happy with the Ranger, but the brand new LTBs were not very coopertive in the snow. I'm told once the sidewalls get worn in, they'll provide a wider foot print at 8 psi. Fortunately Wil was very patient and always there to lend a strap!
All in all it was a really great day out in the sun snow wheeling
