Hello, i have a B4000 99 and some time when i put key on power position, in the cluster the left arrow stay on and a little smoke is coming out from the steering column throw the hazard button, once the smoke stop the left arrow turn off....

May be a dust problem that short some contact and once the dust his completely burn that go back to normal... what should i do...

did someone notice the same problem :icon_confused:

thanks

The hazard switch smoking itself was common. Just get a new one. Ford redesigned them to be less prone to doing that.

The switch on my 99 Explorer has been doing this for a while as well. I found by jiggling the hazard switch the left blinker turns off. I've been meaning to pick one up but it hasn't been my top priority yet, thinking about buying a parts Explorer for other projects and just taking the switch from that. Adsm08, what years did they make an improved switch on?
