Slave clynder does not have a bleed screw?

Please help I am replacing the slave cylener on my 83 ranger and the slave does not seem to have a bleed vale. How do I bleed the system once the new clynder is installed if there is no bleeder

Welcome to TRS. I just looked at a pic of one on the rockauto website. It looks like there is a bleeder right next to where the line connects. It appears to be a hex key (Allen wrench) to turn it.

I just ended. Up draining the system for the owner before me out something other than dot 3 fluid in the system. I compares the to slaves and the new one has the hex screw just as you said the old one does not it just has the port for the line. Thanks for the quick reply. Now attaching the new slave and refilling and bleeding the system with new clean dot 3 fluid.

Hey Lexfox, this is from the instructions that came with son's new slave cylinder for his 85 ranger with the external slave.Warning,do not remove or loosen the set screw,it is not a bleeder on the cylinder,to bleed it you fill the cylinder on a 45 degree angle with brake fluid with the line side up till full then install the line.If possible hold the cylinder vertically with push rod facing down and slowly push the rod in approx 1" while watching for air bubbles in the master cylinder reservoir.After 10-15 strokes there should be no more air bubbles entering the reservoir and slowly bolt cylinder back on to housing.This is done by the way with the retaining strap kept on and it stays on.
